Wiggle N Tripped

Charlie Charles

A fresh start to a life long dream.

In all the years I have worked with horses, I've envied the chance to bring a young one along from the bottom up. Late May, 2021, a friend of mine posted the last baby of their herd had been born... and I got a feeling only comparable to "love at first sight."

I had no business looking at another horse, let alone a weanling. However, I went to work crunching numbers, and planning, dreaming, hoping that I could add Charlie to the herd.

I loved everything about him: color, name, parents, conformation.. He was exactly what I was looking for, without even looking.

The Happiest "Sold" to Ever Exist

Briana, being one of the sweetest humans I've ever dealt with would never say so, but I ignored the crap out of her for weeks regarding Charlie. When would she be listing him? What would they ask for him? Weaning date? Pick up range?

A million questions, and all while she was posting publicly that they weren't ready to list the foals. I'm still thankful she didn't just block me...

My persistence paid off, and by the time they were ready to list the 2021 foals for sale, I had a contract signed, a deposit in the mail, and my name on his listing with *SOLD* under his photo. My heart, to this day does a flutter when I think of that little word, and all of it's implications.

A Future Together

While the future is never certain, especially in light of recent developments, I bought this weanling as a future partner moving towards dreams I've had for myself and my herd.

First and foremost, I want to build a partnership from the ground up. I want to have a lifetime of memories, and do my best to make sure that I have the opportunity to give him the best start I can. A clean slate is a true blessing.

Second: breeding isn't everything, but it has the potential to indicate a horses strengths. Charlie's lineage indicates a strong inclination to extreme athleticism, talent and heart. being fairly new to the western show world, I'm looking for a horse with a well rounded talent. I look to pursue Ranch Versatility, as well as a horse to go with me on all of my adventures on the trail.

Last, and certainly not least: I chose him for his temperament. His father, Dun It With A Wiggle, is a stallion that I have looked up to for years. He is kind, well mannered, and a quick learner. With a good mind, movement and the clear ability to rise to the occasion, I have had my eye on him as a stud prospect for several years. His last two foal crops, both small, have done nothing but impress me. Having watched Steele and his babies the last couple of years, I had absolute confidence in what I was purchasing.

I was not disappointed.

Moving forward, the world is a crazy place. Nothing is certain. But I'm glad I have this little guy to take the ride with me. Here's to many years with my Charlie Charles!
